Defconn is asked to choose between Yoo Jae Suk and Kang Ho Dong

Defconn was faced with a most difficult decision on the latest episode of ‘1 Night 2 Days‘!

On this week’s episode, the cast took a moment to rate themselves on how they’ve been doing so far. “He’s very driven and aggressive, but he’s also surprisingly thin-skinned,” Kim Jun Ho said about Defconn. “That’s because I’m blood type A,” Defconn defended.

“But you still say everything you want to,” Kim Jun Ho replied. Yoo Jae Suk versus Kang Ho Dong!” he said quickly, prodding Defconn to choose between the two ‘nation’s MCs’.

Without hesitation, Defconn yelled, “Yoo Jae Suk!”

“But I really like Kang Ho Dong too,” he added seconds later, mindful of which show he was on, sending the cast into laughter.

“1N2D” Season 2 Bids a Tearful Farewell and Releases Teaser for Season 3

The time has come to say good bye to the members of “1N2D” Season 2 as the show wrapped up its last episode. The closing statements were filled with tears, hugs, thankfulness, and a trip down memory lane.

On November 24, KBS’ variety program “1N2D” officially wrapped up season two with a final goodbye from the members. Similar to the show’s signature opening in which the members gather together to introduce the episode, it was fitting to see the members gather one last time to bid farewell to its audience.

The closing statements revealed how the cast and crew of “1N2D” had formed a bond similar to that of a family. Oldest member Yoo Hae Jin expressed, “It has been eight months (since I joined) and the experiences have been wonderful. I now have great younger friends. I’m thankful to the younger friends for their help, and all the staff have worked very hard.”

When listening to Yoo Hae Jin’s comment, Uhm Tae Woong couldn’t help but explode in tears even before his turn. The actor stated, “I want to thank everyone because I feel that I have received an overflow of love, and I will never forget. Everyone, please quickly forget about me and anticipate the new ‘1N2D.’”

Cha Tae Hyun, who plans to return for season three, said, “Choi Jae Hyung PD comes to mind, as well as Seung Woo hyung (Lee Seung Woo). Please anticipate season three.” Singer Sung Shi Kyung also added his sentiments when he said, “I started the show after being touched when I experienced the ‘viewer tour.’ The program is a show that you oddly grow affectionate towards. Season three will start, but I think ‘1N2D’ is the best program as a KBS weekend variety show.”

Having been with the show since its first broadcast in August 2007, Kim Jong Min, who also plans to return for season three, couldn’t help the tears as he stated, “I first came here in my mid 20’s. Thinking about it, I think I really love ‘1N2D.’ However, there is something I love more than ‘1N2D,’ and that’s Soo Geun hyung. “

In response, Lee Soo Geun, another original member since the show’s first broadcast, gave a 90 degree bow and expressed in his tearful farewell, “Although my body may not be present, my heart will always be here shouting and being together with you.”

“1N2D” first aired six years ago on August 5, 2007 with members Kang Ho Dong, Noh Hong Chul, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, and Kim Jong Min. However, the show reached its highest popularity with members Kang Ho Dong, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, MC Mong, Lee Seung Gi, Kim C, and Kim Jong Min. Season two of “1N2D” first aired on March 4, 2012 with members Lee Soo Geun, Kim Jong Min, Uhm Tae Woong, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Seung Woo, Sung Shi Kyung, and Joo Won.  Along with the changing members of the show, “1N2D” will also experience a change in production team as season three is expected to be produced under a different producer and staff team.

Season three of “1N2D” will consist of returning members Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Min, as well as new members Kim Joon Ho, Kim Joo Hyuk, Jung Joon Young, and Defcon. The new teaser for season three shows a unique approach to the show as the new members express their honesty in their lack of confidence to be funny. The different approach of season three has stirred anticipation as many have become curious of the chemistry between the members who form such an unlikely group.  “1N2D” season three will air its first episode on December 1 at 4:55pm (KST).

Kang Ho Dong runs into a weighty problem on ‘Barefoot Friends’

While visiting Indonesia on the latest episode of SBS’s newest variety program, ‘Barefoot Friends’, MC Kang Ho Dong encountered a heavy problem when he found his path blocked.

The cast had set off on a fishing trip to try and score some of the famed Indonesian rock shrimp. However, on the way, they had to ride a cable car, precariously strung up between two islands over frothy water.

After a few moments of deliberation, however, the cable car owner refused to allow Kang Ho Dong onboard, citing weight as a reason – the ‘nation’s MC’ simply was too heavy!

Unfortunately for him, he had to stay behind while the rest of the members embarked on a happy fishing trip.

Kang Ho Dong and Kim Hyun Joong form a ‘dumb and dumber’ line on ‘Barefoot Friends’

Kang Ho Dong and Kim Hyun Joong turned out to be deficient in common knowledge during the latest episode of ‘Barefoot Friends‘.

While in the car on their way to their next destination, the two of them quizzed each other on general knowledge. On the subject of rivers and oceans, Kang Ho Dong said, “Aren’t there four big rivers in the world?” to which Kim Hyun Joong replied, “Does the one in Egypt count?”

Kang Ho Dong scoffed, asking, “Why would you go to Egypt?”

“Egypt has the Red Sea, but that’s an ocean,” Kim Hyun Joong replied, getting confused. Kang Ho Dong continued his tirade, saying, “Isn’t it the Yellow Sea?”

“I thought the Yellow Sea was a movie,” Kim Hyun Joong said, alluding to the famous Korean movie of the same name. “I don’t think any of us know the answer.”

Their shtick continued, however. Upon arrival at the desert, Kang Ho Dong exclaimed, “It looks like the O’hara Desert” – misspeaking the name of the Sahara. After collapsing in laughter, Kim Hyun Joong said, “It’s all right – at least it’s not the Goo Hara desert”, sending both of the newly-christened ‘dumb and dumber’ line into fits of laughter.

Kang Ho Dong Almost Gave Jo Hye Ryeon′s Mother 10 Million Won as a Gift

Kang Ho Dong is known to be generous with his gifts, but was he really generous enough to give out 10 million won to congratulate comedienne Jo Hye Ryeon′s mother′s birthday?

Apparently, he was…for a minute.

While debating about how much to pay in gift money in specific situations on Channel A′s Bright Solvers, Jo Hye Ryeon got talking about her mother′s 70th birthday party held in 2011.

She said, “Mr. Kang Ho Dong appeared in person despite his busy schedule. I was thankful he was here, but then he gave me a check for 10 million won in gift money.”

It turned out, however, that Kang Ho Dong had given out the wrong check.

“My happiness didn′t last long, though, because Mr. Kang Ho Dong took the 10 million won check away soon, saying he had made a mistake and gave the wrong check. If that didn′t happen, I would′ve treated him as my life′s savior,” she said to laughs from the audience.

Bright Solvers filmed its first episode this day. The show is a talk show in which 15 stars and a panel of experts try to find solutions to everyday problems.

The first episode will air on April 30.

‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education’ beats out competitors in its time slot with premiere

Kang Ho Dong‘s new variety show ‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education‘ is off to a good start as it debuted as #1 in its time slot, beating out ‘Incarnation‘.

AGB Nielsen Korea reported on April 10th that the 9th’s airing of KBS2‘s ‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education’ received a 6.2% viewer rating, which is a solid rating for this particular slot.

‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education’ stars Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, Changmin, among others, and the premise of the show is that the stars go to different neighborhoods and compete against regular citizens. The first episode featured the MCs recruiting celebrities for their ping pong match against ordinary citizens.

SBS‘s ‘Incarnation’ that airs during the same time slot received a rating of 4.9%, which is a 2% drop from what it rated the previous week. This big drop allowed MBC‘s ‘PD Notebook‘ to rise above it with a 5.3% rating.

Kang Ho Dong, Kim Hyun Joong, After School′s Uee and More Caught Shooting New Variety Show in Vietnam

Kang Ho Dong and his crew have been caught shooting for their upcoming SBS show, Barefooted Friends, in Vietnam.

No information on the format of the new show, which is known to be hosted by Kang Ho Dong and produced by PD Jang Hyuk Jae of Family Outing, had been released, drawing more attention to what the new photos from the shoot have to show.

The photos from the show′s filming in Vietnam, which took place on April 5, have been drawing fans to guess it could be an overseas version of 1 Night, 2 Days or Infinity Challenge.

Barefooted Friends features Kim Bum Soo, Kim Hyun Joong, After School′s Uee, Yoon Shi Yoon, Yoo Se Yoon, Yoon Jong Shin and Super Junior′s Eunhyuk, and the crew is led by Kang Ho Dong, their leader.

According to a local Vietnamese outlet, the cast seemed to be in a bright mood. Kang Ho Dong visited the local market with Uee and Kim Bum Soo, while in other photos they were shown walking in what looked like a desert.

A rep from the show said, “All of the members returned to Korea safely on April 8. They will be trying to fulfill missions while backpacking, and you can see what it will specifically be like on the broadcast to air on April 21. Their teamwork was great, and we′re looking forward to the reactions.”

K-Pop Star′s Dream Stage special will air on April 14, and Barefooted Friends will follow in its time slot the next week.
