Jo In Sung Fails to be “Pickled” Enough for Guest Spot on “1 Night, 2 Days”

On the most recent episode of KBS’s “1 Night 2 Days,” they had a “best friends” special (also known as the “pickled friends” special due to a pun in the Korean pronunciation).

The members’ mission for this episode was to cast friends who were “pickled” in their daily lives (friends who needed a break and needed to get out more). All of the members were given casting compensations to give to their friends who agreed to come. Cha Tae Hyun tried calling Kim Jong Kook and Lee Kwang Soo but were unable to reach them. He was then seen calling someone, who later turned out to be none other than Jo In Sung. Jo In Sung answered the phone at nine in the morning, and to this Cha Tae Hyun asked, “Shouldn’t you be passed out?” He had expected Jo In Sung to be passed out from drinking during the wrap-up party of “It’s Okay, It’s Love” from the night before.

Worrying that Jo In Sung’s current state would be too normal, Cha Tae Hyun changed his target to Uhm Tae Woong. But when Uhm Tae Woong had another schedule, Cha Tae Hyun had no other choice but to meet up with Jo In Sung, who had stated that he didn’t have anything to do that day. When they met up in Itaewon, they greeted each other warmly and viewers could sense that they had a close friendship. Despite the early time, Jo In Sung showed up bright and radiating. Though he revealed that he didn’t even have his makeup on, the setting seemed brighter with his presence.

As Cha Tae Hyun explained the special’s concept, he also offered actor Kim Ki Bang, who was with Jo In Sung, to join in on the trip as well. Jo In Sung could not decline the offer, as he did not have any schedule the day after to serve as an excuse. Eventually Jo In Sung accepted the offer to join the trip. What started out to be a joking call ended up really having Jo In Sung on the show. You could view the conversation here.

Cha Tae Hyun Tells BFF Kim Jong Kook to Cheer Up as Ratings Remain Low for ′Running Man′

Cha Tae Hyun Tells BFF Kim Jong Kook to Cheer Up as Ratings Remain Low for ′Running Man′

In regards to Running Man′s low ratings, Cha Tae Hyun told his best friend, Kim Jong Kook to cheer up.

On August 29, Cha Tae Hyun attended the production presentation for his new movie Slow Video at the CGV Theaters in Apgujeong.

With his movie about paying attention to people through CCTV, Cha Tae Hyun was asked to say something to someone who hasn′t had his attention for a while.

“I haven′t paid attention to Kim Jong Kook in a while. I′ve been taking care of Hong Kyung Min so much, but Kim Jong Kook′s situation isn′t all that great either.”

“Just like how it was for me a year ago [on KBS′ 1 Night, 2 Days], in the three broadcast stations, [SBS′ Running Man] is falling slightly behind,” said Cha Tae Hyun.

“But I can′t really give him words of comfort…this kind of relationship has been continuing for three years now. It′s so uncomfortable,” added Cha Tae Hyun, as Running Man and 1 Night 2 Days are competitors in the same time slot.

When a reporter asked if this is his way of telling Kim Jong Kook to cheer up, Cha Tae Hyun replied, “Yes. Cheer up! We also endured it and it′s a bit better now. Who knows how long this will last.”

The actor also stated, “When he was doing well, I′m sure he felt the same. When we meet, we say good things to each together, but really it doesn′t matter, because every Monday, we′re both checking the ratings.”

Slow Video is about a man who can see things in slow motion. He later gets hired at the Korean CCTV Control Center, receiving strange missions to fulfill. It premieres on October 2.

Kim Jong Kook confesses he was once jealous of best friend Cha Tae Hyun’s success

Kim Jong Kook shared why he was jealous of Cha Tae Hyun when they were young.

Singer Kim Jong Kook made a guest appearance on the December 24th episode of ‘Come To Play’ and shared some entertaining stories about his friends Cha Tae Hyun, Yoo Jae Suk, and Lee Kwang Soo.

Kim Jong Kook stated, “I disliked Cha Tae Hyun way back when he was hugely popular. We worked in different fields, but when he had success with both his acting and singing career I was jealous of him even though we were friends.”

Kim Jong Kook continued, “I actually tasted success first when I debuted as a member of Turbo. Back then when Cha Tae Hyun was still an unknown actor, he was merely an extra in the beginning and in the end. When he got very popular people misunderstood him as having changed into an arrogant and ego driven person.”

Kim Jong Kook explained further saying, “The truth is Cha Tae Hyun is a very free spirited person. Sometimes even though I know everything there’s to know about him I still misunderstand him.”
